SMALL TOWNS:

This event on the Saturday is being sponsored through the ECOVAST ASSET project which started after the Retz conference held in November 2005.  The ASSET project comes to an end with this conference in Frantiskovy Lazne which will set out our findings, based on evidence, and our publications.

We will also be able to discuss further work on small towns which could be taken forward by ECOVAST after this conference ends.

Details of the tour of small towns will be explained at the end of the conference.  A full briefing note will be available.

LANDSCAPE WORKSHOP:

The workshop of the Monday will tour some of the border area between the Czech Republic and Germany.   The area is part of the European Green Belt - the former ‘Iron Curtain’ border area which separated western from eastern Europe.  The delegates will then go back to the Three Lilies Hotel to work on the results of their impressions of the landscape excursion.  The workshop is based on the ECOVAST tool “A Guide to Good Practice – ECOVAST Landscape Identification”.

Details of this day will also be explained at the end of the conference on the Saturday
